Payroll Accountant in Jacksonville Beach, FL
This role reports to work in-office (Monday - Friday) in Jacksonville Beach, FL.
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role requires a keen understanding of payroll systems and processes, attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Process multi-state bi-weekly/bi-monthly payroll for multiple clients.
- Calculate employee paychecks, including deductions, bonuses, and overtime.
- Reconciliation of payroll and benefits accounts in QB.
- Ensure most efficient and accurate integration between payroll and accounting functions.
- Maintaining and updating payroll software and systems.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- 401K management, reconciliation, and support.
- Worker’s Comp, state reemployment and health insurance audit & compliance.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare, review and file payroll tax returns and other government forms as required.
Communication:
- Address and timely resolve clients’ inquiries related to payroll.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting or related role (in-house or outsourced payroll processing and filing).
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QB) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
